The story is told to few
The one your about to hear
Is fresh as morning dew
And it is true as ever dear
Their lived a fair maiden
In a distant Christian alnd
Behold, with wisdom she was laden
And beautiful as desert sand
She spoke like waters
And wind was her friend
with birds she chatters
Like moon she descends
To the lake nearby
And tossed a stone in
The sight came by
and she saw with a grin
Behold, a christian Knight
In a far off pagan soil
Young and wars did he fight
Doing his master's toil
His exploits were few
But he wrote them all
THE maiden's heart was laden
Ans she read them all
In A Foreign tongue
The maiden spoke
The knight did heard
Oh my lady, by the brook
I do not understand your tongue
He said and the maiden smiled
"You are beautiful, my knight young
And thats all I impiled
The Knight was much glad
TO see such a lovely maiden
Praising him and was also sad
For he had soft feelings hidden
Across the seas time walked
In two far away lands
The two souls did talked
Though they never held each other's hands
One day the maiden asked
"Do you know what is love ?"
The knight had his feelings masked
"Aye, but only from Heaven above"
But in their hearts, their soul sings
And the true joy both knew
That the love had gained wings
SAnd with time emotions grew
But a day came when she did couldn't hold
And spoke with deep affection
My knight, I love thee an behold
with you, in dreams I have connection
The knight was happy to hear
and said"Oh my lady of the brook !"
I liked you from the start
And for a woman like you I look"
The maiden was cheerful
And the knight was glad
For their love was successful
And love was all they had.
